Restaurant Merkelbach serves breakfast, lunch and dinner in the former Coach house of Huize Frankendael. The kitchen philosophy links up with the stately, historic exterior. Authentic taste is therefore pivotal.

The restaurant embodies the countryside both literally and figuratively. It couldn't be any other way for a country house such as this, which borders the ecological Frankendael Park. The menu is French-Mediterranean. The restaurant boasts a large, garden-facing terrace, over which the sun slowly descends into a sea of green. Restaurant Merkelbach is open daily between 08.30 – 23.00 hrs.

Restaurant Merkelbach is named after the former owner, architect Ben Merkelbach. During his time as 'caretaker' of the house he held an inordinate respect for both the countryside and society. His creed: “Everyone should be able to come and visit”, which is why he opened the house to the curious public every year. The new 'inhabitants' wish to uphold his creed and as such named the restaurant after him.
